Privacy Policy

What we collect and why

• Your email address and account identifiers, to sign you in and manage your account.
• Profile names, birth dates, optional birth times, birthplace coordinates, and reading preferences, to save profiles and calculate astrology charts.
• Optional profile photos, to display the profiles you create.
• Email and push notification preferences, to save your update choices. If you enable notifications on a device, we also store its notification identifier and timezone to manage that device’s registration with Firebase Cloud Messaging.
• Technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, request times, and errors, to operate the website, troubleshoot problems, and prevent abuse.
• Messages you send us, to answer questions and handle requests.
• Website usage information, such as page visits, interactions, device and browser details, approximate location, and cookie identifiers, to understand how the website is used and improve it.

Most information comes from you. If someone creates a profile for you, we receive the details they provide. Contact us if you believe your information was submitted without permission. An email address is needed for an account; birth details are needed to calculate a chart. You can leave the birth time and photo blank.

Account and profile details are used to provide the features you request. Photos are optional and can be removed. We use security information to protect the service and may process information when required by law. Where consent is required, you may withdraw it by contacting us; this may prevent us from providing the affected feature.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the service you request for essential account and chart processing, consent for optional photos, our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure for abuse prevention, and legal obligations where they apply. Chart calculations do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Service providers and sharing

We use Google Cloud and Firebase to host the service, store data, and authenticate accounts, Google Analytics for Firebase to measure website usage, and Twilio to deliver account emails. These providers process the information needed for their services. Information may be processed in Canada, the United States, and other countries where our providers operate, and may be accessible to authorities under those countries’ laws. Contact us for information about the providers and transfer arrangements that apply to your data.

Birthplace search uses Google Maps Platform. Your search text and technical information are sent to Google to return place suggestions. Google’s Privacy Policy applies to that feature and is incorporated here by reference.

We may also disclose information when required by law, or when legally permitted and necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or threats to people’s rights or safety.

Profile photos are accessible by link. Anyone with a photo’s image link can view and save it without signing in. Do not upload a photo you need to keep private.

Storage on your device

We use browser storage to keep you signed in, complete email-code sign-in, manage notification registration, and remember your selected profile. You can clear this storage in your browser settings, which may sign you out and reset those preferences.

Google Analytics for Firebase uses cookies and similar technologies to collect automatic usage statistics. We do not add account emails, profile names, birth details, or chart readings to Analytics events, and advertising features are disabled. You can restrict cookies in your browser settings. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Keeping and deleting information

We keep account and profile information until you delete it or close your account, unless longer retention is required by law. You can edit or delete profiles and photos, or delete your account in Account settings. Account deletion removes the account and its profiles and photos from our active systems.

Deleted photos remain recoverable in storage for seven days before permanent deletion. Our standard application and request logs are retained for 30 days. Separate provider records, support correspondence, and records needed to meet legal obligations may remain for the period necessary for those purposes. Copies of photos already saved by others are outside our control.

Protecting your information

We use encrypted connections, account authentication, and access controls to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your sign-in links private and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access. Profile photos remain accessible by link as explained above.

Your choices and rights

Contact privacy@astrokadeh.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to raise a privacy concern. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may also request a portable copy, restriction of processing, or object to processing. We may need to verify your identity. We respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any lawful limits on a request. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal. You may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your local privacy regulator.

Astrokadeh accounts are for adults aged 18 and over. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us so we can review and remove their information where appropriate.

Updates

We will update this page when our practices change. Where required, we will notify you and obtain consent before using your information for a new purpose.
